How I Relieved Pain and Shrunk a Plantar Fibroma in Three Days Using a Turmeric, Coconut Oil, and Andrographis Poultice

Plantar fibromatosis, a condition characterized by the development of benign fibrous lumps on the plantar fascia of the foot, can be both painful and frustrating. I’ve been dealing with this condition for some time, trying various remedies to alleviate the pain and potentially shrink the fibroma. After much trial and error, I finally found a combination that worked wonders for me: a poultice made from turmeric, coconut oil, and Andrographis, which I applied with cotton rounds inside a leak-proof wrap.

In just three days, the results were nothing short of amazing aside from the orange stain on the bottom of my foot. The pain subsided significantly, and the fibroma appeared to shrink. This article will walk you through my experience and the exact steps I followed, in the hopes that it may help others dealing with the same condition.

Understanding Plantar Fibromatosis

Plantar fibromatosis causes the formation of nodules or lumps on the arch of the foot, and while they are benign, they can be painful, particularly when walking or standing for long periods. Traditional treatments range from orthotics to surgery, but as I wanted to avoid invasive options, I turned to natural remedies.

After researching anti-inflammatory and fibroma-reducing agents, I developed a remedy that combined turmeric, coconut oil, and Andrographis, a potent herb known for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Why I Chose These Ingredients

  1. Turmeric: Known for its strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, turmeric has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. Curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, is particularly effective at reducing inflammation, which makes it a perfect candidate for addressing the pain and swelling caused by my plantar fibroma.
  2. Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is another widely used natural remedy, especially for skin-related issues. It helps moisturize the skin, promoting wound healing and has mild anti-inflammatory properties. It also served as an excellent base to mix the other ingredients, allowing for easy application.
  3. Andrographis: This herb may not be as well-known as turmeric or coconut oil, but it has a strong reputation in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for fighting inflammation and boosting the immune system. Andrographis has been studied for its potential to reduce the size of fibrous tissue, making it an excellent addition to the poultice.

The Poultice Recipe

Here’s how I created the turmeric, coconut oil, and Andrographis poultice:

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the turmeric powder, coconut oil, and Andrographis powder. Stir the mixture until it forms a smooth paste. If the paste feels too thick, you can add a little more coconut oil to achieve a spreadable consistency.
  2. Prepare the Foot: Before applying the poultice, I thoroughly cleaned and dried the affected area. This ensures that the ingredients can penetrate the skin more effectively.
  3. Application: Using a spatula or spoon, I applied a generous amount of the poultice directly onto the plantar fibroma. I made sure the entire lump was well-covered by the mixture.
  4. Leak-Proof Wrap: To keep the poultice in place and prevent any mess, I wrapped my foot in a leak-proof medical bandage. You can use plastic wrap as a barrier, but I preferred a medical wrap designed for such treatments, as it allowed the foot to breathe while keeping the mixture securely in place.

The Three-Day Process

Day 1: Immediate Relief

After applying the poultice and wrapping my foot, I kept it on for about 6-8 hours. During this time, I rested my foot and avoided walking too much. Within the first couple of hours, I noticed a soothing sensation. The pain that had been gnawing at my foot for weeks began to ease.

By the end of the first day, the swelling around the fibroma had visibly reduced, and the lump didn’t feel as hard as it usually did. I reapplied the poultice before bed and kept the wrap on overnight.

Day 2: Significant Improvement

When I woke up on the second day, I was amazed at the progress. The fibroma was noticeably smaller, and the pain had decreased to a mere dull ache. Walking felt less uncomfortable, and I could finally bear more weight on the affected foot.

I repeated the process of applying the poultice and wrapping my foot throughout the day. I kept it on for about 6-8 hours, then reapplied before bed. With each application, I felt the lump softening and the pain diminishing even further.

Day 3: Shrinking the Fibroma

By the third day, the results were incredible. The fibroma had shrunk to half its original size, and the pain was nearly gone. The inflammation that had once caused such discomfort was greatly reduced, and walking was almost normal again.

While the fibroma hadn’t disappeared completely, it was much smaller and less bothersome. I continued to apply the poultice daily for the rest of the week to maintain the progress and promote further healing.

Why the Poultice Worked

The combination of turmeric, coconut oil, and andrographis worked in synergy to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and promote the shrinking of the fibrous tissue. Here’s a breakdown of why each ingredient contributed to the success:

  • Turmeric / Curcumin: Curcumin is a well-known anti-inflammatory compound that inhibits enzymes and proteins that cause inflammation in the body. Its powerful antioxidant properties also help in healing damaged tissue, which likely contributed to the reduction of my fibroma.
  • Coconut Oil’s Healing Power: Coconut oil contains medium-chain fatty acids, which help soothe and moisturize the skin. Its anti-inflammatory effects may have contributed to the reduction of pain and swelling around the fibroma.
  • Andrographis’ Anti-Fibrotic Action: Andrographis is traditionally used to reduce inflammation and promote tissue healing. Its ability to break down fibrous tissue was key in helping to shrink the plantar fibroma in such a short amount of time.

Conclusion: Natural Healing Success

In just three days, I experienced significant pain relief and a reduction in the size of my plantar fibroma, thanks to a simple yet powerful poultice made from turmeric, coconut oil, and Andrographis. This natural remedy provided an alternative to surgery or medication, offering a holistic approach to managing plantar fibromatosis.

For anyone suffering from similar conditions, I encourage giving this remedy a try. It worked for me, and it might just work for you too. Remember, though, to consult with a healthcare professional before trying any new treatments, especially if you have other medical conditions.
